Courtyard Basel

My experience with Hotel Mariott was disappointing due to their unresponsive customer service. Trying to cancel my booking, due to business trip changes. Became a frustrating ordeal of unanswered emails and unapologetic phone calls, leaving me feeling undervalued as a guest. Sadly, this experience has shaken my trust in the hotel's commitment to customer satisfaction.

Hotel is not very close to the city center of Basel, about 15 minutes by car.The beds were not good and are way overdue to be changed out.Overall service is a bit lacking, I had to ask 3 different times for the body gel to be refilled in my room, took them 2 days.The Bistro restaurant is much overpriced, 30 CHF for a burger.Will not stay here next time I go to Basel.

Das Zimmer wurde uns nachträglich nochmals auf der Kreditkarte belastet. Das Hotel weigert sich, den vollen Betrag wieder zu erstatten. Die Zimmer sind altmodisch eingerichtet. Das Bad/WC sind nicht sonderlich sauber. Für diesen Preis sind der Service und die Zimmer eine absolute Zumutung.

Das Hotel und die Zimmer wären schon recht, wenn da nicht der Service wäre. Bei der Ankunft war das Zimmer nicht bereit, so wie im Vorjahr auch nicht. Beim Auschecken stimmte die Abrechnung nicht und wurde erst nach mehrmaligen Telefonaten meinerseits korrigiert. Das nenne ich nicht einen 4 Sterne Service.

Excellent hotel for business or personal travel. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The best thing about the property are the staff; always ready to meet any demand. Property manager Amindra went above and beyond to accommodate my earlier arrival making my stay a very pleasant experience.

Wir sind zum 2x da gewesen und wahren sicher das letzte mal da. Mitarbeiter streiten sich an der Hotel Bar, der Barkeeper machte die Drinks aus dem Handbuch weil er keine Ahnung hatte. Gehört sich ja so in einem 4 Sterne Hotel und zu dem kommt noch das ich für 2Drinks 20min warten musste. Was auch noch Super wahr das in diesem Hotel kein Angestellter Deutsch spricht. Und bei Ihnen auf der Homepage steht das ein Hund 25 fr pro nacht kostet. Sie wollten uns aber 125fr verechnen. Für diese Preise ist das Hotel nicht zu empfehlen.

Not good value for the money! I stayed here as the Marriott closer to the city center was sold out.. the building seems very old, not modern interior either.. but what bothered me much more was how noisy it was in the room even though I stayed on top floor and requested a quiet room.. the windows seem to be so badly isolated that you can hear all the cars from the highway as well as the trains etc. - not good for light sleepers. Also, the people in the room next to me were very loud. In addition, the mini bar was empty and when I asked they said it is always empty … (never experience that before), so needed to go downstairs to get water … especially as a gold, former platinum member, i am used to get free drinks and more in all Marriott brand hotels, but this seems to be an exception..

Not up to average Courtyard Marriott standards. Rooms are getting oldish but they are clean and roomy. Breakfast choice is good but not great. Staff is nice and doing its best, but by far not enough. Notwithstanding I had a reservation with platinum membership level and had requested an electronic key in advance I had to wait almost 20 minutes in line for checking in (on a Saturday afternoon, when the hotel was practically empty but there was only one person at the desk). Exact same situation at checkout on Sunday morning ... simply unacceptable.
