Highly recommended place to stay, the owners go way beyond what you'd expect, making you feel part of the lodge family. With the new gondola linking it to lenzerheide a lot more reliably than the dodgy old chairlift, it's a great budget way if enjoying this great ski resort

New change to the ownership over the pandemic. Writing this review with bikers in mind. Myself and a group of friends visited for a week on our motorbikes from the UK. Lots of space at the Lodge with comfy beds in a variety of single and double layouts. 3 shower rooms, 5 toilets, big kitchen for self catering, UK television to keep up to date with the soaps (as if!!), large dining area and room to relax with soft furnishings. Space for a couple of vans and over (our) 10 motorbikes. Supermarkets are literally a minute or so walk, as is a nice bar and a few restaurants if you don’t want to cook your own meals. All speak good English if your German (in the main) isn’t particularly decent. Plenty storage space for riding equipment so you don’t have to take it up and down between the sleeping area and the main downstairs area. Close to lifts up the mountains if you take a day off the bikes. The Lodge is by the main road through the town giving easy access to and from the location, double glazed windows keep the sound down, unless you open the windows. We went during high 30’sC and it was comfortable and quiet at night without the need for aircon which the Lodge doesn’t have or particularly need. The caretaker on hand, Ollie, is an almost invisible resident in a top floor apartment at the building and there to help if required. We all agreed we would use the Lodge again for our needs should we return to the local area. Churwalden is a superb spot for biking in the region with plenty 24hr fuel stations which all took UK credit and debit cards (other nations also available), lots of places to eat and drink along the way and some motorbike shops in the area should you need them. Highly recommended.

Budget Priced. Great Location for Summer & Winter for groups for the whole Chalet or per room per night.
