Alpadia Language Schools - Leysin Summer Camp

You really made my summer, you are the best company ever!

Alpadia Leysin (23/07-05/08)If you’re thinking of sending your child to a summer camp in Switzerland and not worry about safety and quality, then this camp is NOT what you’re looking for.1. No one is properly looking after the kids. You will be the one informing the administration about any incidents and conflicts (and not them informing you). No one will care enough to find a proper solution to the issues that arise nor effectively communicate with the parents.2. The food is unbalanced and not nutritious enough (ex. Not enough vegetables and no variety of protein), kids are often hungry and end up buying junk food from the store nearby.3. Any additional activities (my daughter took part in the horseback riding and culinary classes) are pure fiction. Out of a 3/4 hour horseback riding class my daughter spent 15 minutes riding the horse and the culinary class consisted of making crèpes (all three lessons).4. If your child doesn’t communicate in French or Italian (thankfully my daughter did, but some of her friends did not) it will be quite hard for them to enjoy this camp.5. Pure organisational nightmare (half of the documents from the pre-departure list weren’t checked, the initial activity schedule was not followed) and borderline boorish behaviour of the administration.Hopefully, if enough effort is put into it, Alpadia in Leysin can become a nice place to spend your summer vacations while also learning and having fun. But for now, I do not recommend this summer camp to anyone.

Foi a nossa escolha para o primeiro intercâmbio da nossa filha Helena, de 8 anos. Ela foi extremamente bem recebida, logo de cara ficou super à vontade, e sem falar nada do idioma ficou confortável. Passou uma semana lá, se divertiu muito, fez amigos de diferentes paises, adorou a experiência! Ainda aproveitou das aulas opcionais de equitação. A cidade é incrível, cheia de summer camps ocorrendo nessa época do ano. A Alpadia foi excelente!

I was in the Camp to learn french and i really loved it. Everything was great, the trips we had, the activities we did, and it was easy to make friends. Everyone was nice to everyone, we were a great team. I would have wished that some teachers had shown more empathy.thanks a lot for the great week! Dalia

Meine Tochter war 1 Woche dort, leider mussten wir sie nach 3 Tagen abholen, so unwohl hat sie sich gefühlt. Am selben Abend holte eine weitere Mutter IHRE Kinder ab, dieses ebenfalls furchtbar fanden. Einige Camp-Mitarbeiter packten die Kinder grob am Arm, schüchternen sie ein, waren frech zu ihnen etc. Absolute Katastrophe! Als wir das Gespräch suchten, schob man den Kindern die Schuld zu oder bagatellisierte die Vorfälle und nahm die Mitarbeiterinnen in Schutz. Das Essen war zudem ungenießbar!

Alpha and Laura were great. But: The staff is very unfriendly to the children! Not one child made a happy face. The staff catched some children rough by their arms! The other children were afraid and so was the atmosphere! Some of the parents get to take the children out after 3 days as the atmosphere was so bad! So did we. Plus: they write 4 lessons French, but in fact there were 3 lessons from 8:39 til 11:15h. The food was not delicious at all. A dessert was served the next day the same as the day before. Do not waste your money there! Never again. They don't know how to treat children and teenagers and let them have a nice stay. I contact them but they refuse to believe.
