Napfbrunnen

Beautiful and quite place in the middle of the old town. Right in front of the The Brunnenturm which is a late medieval residential tower in the Rathaus district ( district 1 ) of the Swiss city of Zurich . The noble tower from the 13th century, also known as the Lamparterturm , has been repeatedly renovated and rebuilt and, after various changes of ownership, has survived to this day. The fountain tower is on the «Oberen Zäune» at the upper end of the Napfplatz in front of the «Turm» restaurant.The noble tower and the adjoining house ( palas ) were built around 1250 in the middle of the old town . From 1357 to 1429 it was owned by Lombard traders and moneylenders, which is why it was also called the Kawertschenturm . In 1429, the Lampartner Thoman Velleti sold the house to Götz Escher, progenitor of the Escher vom Luchs family, who owned the property until 1810. From 1429 to around 1550 the building was called the Escherturm , then the Brunnenturm after the fountain erected on the forecourt.This place is worth visiting and especially if you like City strolls and beautiful walks on weekdays or early in the morning on a weekend.It's easily accessible from the main streets and the old town and it leads to some narrow alleyways that are worth visiting.The nearest public toilet is close to the Limat River. Best alternatives are toilets in restaurants and Cafés.
