Akane is not only a great pianist but also a wonderful piano teacher. She could explain the music in a very simple way as a story/image. She could also break down difficult phrases to parts and teaches the technique - not only how to master the piece but also how to practice.Akane’s lessons are really fun and motivating. She focuses on the music instead of the mechanical movement of the fingers. The twice a year student concerts were also great! Gave us a stage to perform and also a milestone to aim for.

Took chamber music lessons with Akane (violin + piano). She was able to hone in with instructive, actionable suggestions based on, as I perceived, a deep understanding for both the musical and technical content in the piece as well as the specific abilities of the musicians. She is a delight as a person as well and I can not recommend her high enough as a piano and chamber music teacher.Her class concerts were a great way to get a stage to perform as a non-professional. And I wish to perform there soon again.

My daughter took lesson with Akane, and she loved her passion, her patience and the way she explained it to her. Akane has a beautiful piano to play on which makes the whole experience even more intense - thank you so much. Brigitte
