Sehr schönes Hotel/Restaurant inunvergleichlicher Lage. Traumhafte Terrasse mit Panoramablick. Trinken und Essen wurde für uns hier zu einem Erlebnis. Ein idealer Stopp auf dem Weg zum First hoch oder runter, wenn man es etwas entspannter möchte.Für die Kids gibt es einen großen Abenteuerspielplatz. So ist für alle ideal gesorgt.Sehr empfehlenswert!

Wir durften uns von einem sehr freundlichen und angenehmen Kellner bedienen lassen. Der Standort und die gemütliche Terrasse sind bei schönem Wetter genial. Die Aussicht ist mega! Und was das Essen angeht, durften wir verschiedene sehr leckere und schön angerichtete Menüs geniessen. Wir kommen gerne wieder. Ja, die Menüs sind nicht die günstigsten, aber aus unserer Sicht stimmt die Preis/Leistung absolut. Aber die Preisewahrbehmung ist ja bekanntlich sehr subjektiv.

Stayed here for 1 night in July 2023. Amazing views from the rooms and the restaurant.Getting there by gondola would be most convenient since the road there is narrow, steep, and shared with pedestrians and bikes.If you must drive, be warned that (as of July 2023) Google Maps was giving wrong directions. The correct driving route from center of Grindelwald:- turn left from Obere Gletscherstrasse onto Regenmattenstrasse (near the Mühlebach Schule bus stop)- turn left on Rinderstutzweg- stay on this main path all the way to the hotelAlways pay attention and follow road signs. There are several locations in Grindelwald with clear signage warning you not to follow your GPS down the wrong path.

Schönes Restaurant, tolle Terasse, leider hatten wir einen Kellner, der sehr zerstreut war. Er konnte den Preisen leider nicht gerecht werden, schade.

Stayed here for two nights and also ate in the restaurant twice. Overall, we had a nice experience. The room we got was basically one of the only ones in Grindelwald that will fit 5 people so it was a cost saver as well not getting two rooms. It had great views, felt modern and the staff were helpful.However, there are some things to keep in mind if you're planning on coming:-Driving up to the hotel is difficult. My mom didn't do any research beforehand and we had no idea what road led to the hotel (Google Maps will straight up refuse to navigate you up there for good reason). The road is a windy and steep 3km road up the mountain with only space for one car. You'll experience other cars and a ton of people on scooters going the opposite way and have to back down or pull over consistently. There is a cable car to the hotel which is a much easier trip, but it's also expensive along with the operating hours not being ideal with the last car at 6:30pm.-This isn't necessarily the hotel's fault, we encountered this basically anywhere we went in Grindelwald. The flies are awful. Nobody has window screens. Eating dinner in the restaurant will be a constant battle of flicking flies off the food as they crawl on you as well. It was really a culture shock coming from the USA. They're everywhere, and while the food was good it was one of the most uncomfortable dining experiences we've ever had, especially for someone in our family with OCD. Again, it was even worse in town and you'll find the same at other Grindelwald hotels.-Bathrooms and bedrooms are separate from each other. They were both nice and clean, but you will need to walk in a public hallway between your designated room and designated bathroom.-Food's expensive, but Switzerland is notoriously expensive, so again not the hotel's fault. More just a general thing to keep in mind if traveling to the area.-Walls are thin, and we could hear the couple next to us very clearly until they fell asleep.-Low ceilings caused us to smash our head on the ceiling more than once when we walked to the low part of the room we were in.Having stayed here, we'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for some solitude and views. It just will take some work to get up there.

We (early 30s couple) stayed for two nights in the room with mountain view and ensuite bathroom (Total: ~650 CHF). It was overall a very pleasant experience, here our thoughts:Pros:- Really stunning views- Clean facilities- Quite modern- Parking right by the hotel (I didn't find the road up that bad, at least not in summer).Contra:- Price: Quite pricey for what it is, but we'll let this pass as it's Switzerland.- Service: Employees are friendly but the service level could be a bit improved as it's lower than what we're used to, even in European hotels of a similar category. Three specific situations: (1) A hotel employee came into our room without knocking while we were inside and then just left without explaining why they tried to come in the first place. Later this person apologised and it's all good, but anyone working in a hotel should know not to enter a room without knocking. (2) A waiter asked if we'd like a bottle of water and we specifically requested tap water. The waiter then brings us a bottle of tap water and we were charged 7 CHF for it. Perhaps that's standard in Switzerland, but before charging for tap water you should at least give a heads up. For 7 CHF, we'd expect a closed water bottle. (3) We asked for a plastic garbage sack at the reception, the person said they'd bring it to our room in 10min, but they didn't. We had to go again and requested it a second time. Despite these things, we had a good time at the hotel and even felt a bit sorry for the employees as the hotel felt a bit short staffed and the same team is working from AM to PM.Side note for travellers who want quiet time: There are many tourists and kids around from 10AM to 6PM, before and after that it's heaven.

view nearby hotel is spectacular. this hotel just few steps from cable car station grindelwald bort, 1station before grindelwald first. we stay on family room, and it is comfortable room for 2adults and 2 kids. the croisant at breakfast still warm and good taste.
