Cabane de La Tza

Depuis Pramousse, la montée dure environ 2h30.Le chemin part du petit hameau pour rejoindre rapidement la forêt. Les arolles sont absolument magnifiques. Beaucoup de cassenoix les parcourent à la recherche de pignons et constituent leurs réserves pour la saison froide.L'ambiance du sous-bois a quelque chose de magique : les hautes herbes entre les troncs semblent cacher une vie insoupçonnée, je ne serai pas surpris de voir un troll en sortir.Les arbres laissent ensuite peu à peu la place un sentier dans les prairies maigres qui serpente entre les rochers, puis avant d'arriver à la cabane il faudra trouver votre voie dans le pierrier, mais rien de compliqué.La cabane est une construction simple posée sur une bosse rocheuse. La vue sur le Val d'Hérens et le Pigne d'Arolla vaut le détour.Non seulement l'accueil de la gardienne est très sympathique, mais ses talents culinaires sauront ravir vos papilles avec des produits bio. J'ai particulièrement apprécié de me désaltérer avec un thé à la lavande/citron, délicieux.La nuit était très calme, c'est l'avantage de l'emplacement situé en fond de vallée où il y a peu de circulation. Aucun bruit ne remonte depuis le talweg, seules quelques pierres tombant des sommets alentour viennent troubler le silence.La descente sur Arolla est relativement rapide et s'effectue en un peu plus d'une heure et demie.On retrouve rapidement une forêt du même type que celle rencontrée à la montée. On y croise cependant quelques torrents, l'autre versant étant nettement plus sec.

A very nice refuge with lovely tenants, we did it with children aged 3 and 4 who loved it BUT instead of taking 3.5hours for the round trip it took us 7 hours haha. The kids loved it as it was their first refuge. The walk is easy (you are in the mountain so you keep on climbing but its not too steep nor abrupt) and not dangerous. Try the homemade snickers they're AMAZING!

Super bel endroit pour une rando. Panorama magnifique. Je suis montée pour une rando, pas dormi. La gardienne est très aimable et on y mange bien. La montée est jolie mais exigeante 700 mètres de dénivelé. Pour ceux qui ont des problèmes aux genoux, bâtons recommandés + les temps de montée/descente signalés sont pour les solides randonneurs.

This is a real mountain cabin , unlike the nowadays cabins which turned to almost hotels and equipped with everything even a shower and private rooms !! I like the cosyness of the cabin de la tsa and the special care from the cabin hosts. They are so nice and treat the guest with smile . The dinner was so delicious and breakfast was well prepared and very rich . The hiking-tea was also offered .. a thing that not all cabins are offering nowadays . The view from this cabin is superb.. looking over the glaciers and Arolla valley ... if you are hiking toward arolla and wants to stay in the mood of sleeping in cabin instead of ruin your journey with the hotel luxury and convenient then cab de la tsa is the best option .. only 2 hr hike from Arolla ; the next day 1:30 min and you are down the road again ..

A yearly ritual and treat! This has been the 47th year my father has climbed this hike to Cabane de la Tsa, and I have been coming with him since around age 10. Now my son made his second hike!Beautiful hike, with amazing reward at the top! Delicious (vegetarian) Swiss food, wine, and always great company. This is one of the highlights of my year! And the view is second to none.If you’re in Arolla region, this hike is a must. We’ve taken many friends of all ages. It’s difficult for beginners and aged people, but if taken slowly, anyone can make the hike. Just take it easy.

Nice mountain hut with nice staff and good food. The beds are clean too so that's not bad.

Beautiful place! With the best yoga platform in the world. Great cake! Very nice owner.
