Schöner Klettersteig aufs Mittaghorn, Abstieg zu Fuss bis Saas Fee. Sesselbahn fährt nicht.

Great via ferrata/Klettersteig! Hiking in and back takes some time, but all-in-all a great experience. Take the Alpin Express up to Morenia to make it a bit easier and quicker.

This is one of the best via ferratas I've done. It's more like a protected scramble than most other ferratas. You are mostly climbing on rock but there are a few sections of U-shaped metal stemples or simple metal pegs. The exposure is fairly low, except for one short section. The altitude is high, so this is more tiring than most valley ferratas and more prone to bad weather. Overall it is fairly easy, but more difficult than the Schwarzhorn. The biggest challenge is reaching the start. I climbed all the way from Saas Fee but I think most people take the Alpin Express cable car to the first stop.

Great little mountain via ferrata. Not hard. The descent is easy, but very steep (don't slip!).Note that the Morenia cable car doesn't open until mid-July. Check the exact date.

Hier gilt, wer auf dem Gipfel ankommt, hat noch nicht die Hälfte. Nicht zu spät einsteigen Hoch-Gebirgsgsklttersteig mit fantastischen Aussichten. Nicht zu empfehlen wenn das Wetter unsicher ist und/oder Schnee liegt. Langer und steiler Abstieg. Genügend Zeit, Verpflegung und passende Ausrüstung mitnehmen. Viel Felskontakt...und Aussicht Aussicht Aussicht..

Fairly easy via ferrata, the biggest challenge was actually before the section where you're attaching yourself to the ropes started, as you face a bit of a steep walk uphill, with often big drops on both sides, and at the time I did it it was windy and cold. There is actually a short section of essentially vertical wall you climb right at the beginning where I think 1 or 2 metal steps in the wall could have helped, it took me a few moments to figure out how to navigate it.The actual via ferrata is mostly a protected scramble with several really fun, well secured and designed climbing sections. The views are awesome throughout, especially once you reach the top. I did this in early August and needed 4 layers, it's very cold due to the very high elevation up there.I agree that this is a beginner friendly via ferrata. I rented my equipment from Cesar Sport in Saas-Fee and that cost 28CHF.
