My son, Van, went here a while back. While complete immersion can be tough, it was well worth it in the end. He grew quite fond of this place and made quite a few friends. The instructors he had were quite worth it! His German was beautiful for the level he reached. He was able to take what he learned and continue on to the Studienkolleg in Konstanz. Passed the test in the upper 15%.

The place is tidy and conducive for resting and studies. Surely recommend this place.

The Humboldt-Institute offers German language learners the chance to learn German from first-rate instructors in a marvelous atmosphere. Not far from Lake Constance (der Bodensee), the Humboldt-Institute is in a perfect spot. Lots of great shopping can be found in Konstanz, Deutschland via a short bus ride. The school is walking distance from a small grocery store (Penny-Markt) and it is close to the main bus stop on Mainaustraße. On site meals are provided to students and one can reside on location in their dorms for convenience sake. Wireless internet services are also provided.If you want to send your children to a safe place where learning is encouraged and so they can experience German culture, the Humboldt-Institute in Konstanz is a great choice.

Lovely!This is a review for the adult courses at the Humboldt-Institut Konstanz. I was there for two weeks. I had a great experience there and I have nothing bad to say.The classes were great. German was thought through the principal of immersion without the use of English. My teacher was great. He was attentive to each of us to make sure we were following the class and getting what we wanted out of it. I only came for a holiday and a chance to speak German all day, but there were others studying for tests and to climb the Niveaus. The class suited everybody.There were opportunities to speak German after class with the recreational activities. Every evening and weekend there was something to do. Pub nights, indoor rock climbing, macramé, yoga, a bob sledding rail, outings to places of cultural interest and natural beauty in Germany and Switzerland. All the activities were hosted by supervisors, all German speakers who were excellent at making everyone feel included. I’m grateful to them that I had fun every day.The food was almost too good. There were three big tasty meals per day and unfortunately the desserts were excellent! The chefs were both professional and friendly. At the time I was there, four people had four different special diets and this was no problem.The rooms were very nice. I got my own room - on suite. It was cleaned regularly. I feel like I was barely in my room except to sleep and to get ready for the day. Only after someone mentioned it, did I notice I had my own television. Unobservant as I am, I noticed the rooms were great.I’m writing this in the airport on the way home. I miss Humboldt already. Maybe I’ll come back, but I’m not sure if it will be the same. The friends that I made will all have moved on. Maybe if we come back together sometime…
