Serendipity Montessori

Giving 5 stars is pretty straightforward (if anything I would say that Google should allow us extra stars for Serendipity Montessori), however writing some words is the difficult part as there is so much I could write about Serendipity Montessori, Ms. Zoe and Katharina. So, I will start by the end and say to all parents out there that making the best decisions for our children can be tricky, but this is an easy one: there is no place nor people that I trust and love more to take care of my son than everyone at Serendipity Montessori.This all started 1 year ago when we were looking for the best place to enroll our son. Up to this point he never had been in any other place besides our home and since the Montessori principles and essentially, the respectful parenting values were not new to us we tried to find a place that could be, more than anything, an extension of our home. As soon as we met Ms. Zoe we instantly knew we did not have to look anywhere else. This was the first place we went and now, after 1 year, I still cannot believe how much of a perfect match, an extension of our own home and above all, a community this place is.At Serendipity Montessori there are not 2 days that are the same, and this by itself proves how wonderful, caring and enthusiastic Ms. Zoe is with the children. Our son is encouraged to explore, the world and himself and what he does on a daily basis, be it learning about geography, different countries, costumes, nature and how to harvest his own products, taking care and learning how to interact with different animals, understand and control his emotions, music and all real-life activities is something that just words will never do enough justice…it’s like seeing a flower starting to bloom in the purest of the environments.Ms. Zoe, as a teacher, again there are not enough words…her level of patient is beyond imaginable and the way she finds and takes time to really personalize each child needs is, for me as a father, incredible and allowed me to also understand a lot about our son’s learning process. All the new ways she finds to keep the children challenged and the “stories” my son tells us at the end of the day always put a smile on my face.I have to say that as a parent I always felt that I was on top of everything that was going on with our son because information and communication towards the parents are also key skills from Ms. Zoe and everyone at Serendipity Montessori. I really like all the regular email updates, reminders for the upcoming activities and especially all the weekly photos that Ms. Zoe so kindly and continuously throughout the year shares with us.I will end as I started: you, as a parent, can have doubts about a lot of decisions concerning your children, however, knowing that Serendipity Montessori is the absolute best place for your children to attend shouldn’t be one of those. Our almost 2 hours of daily driving just to drop and pick up our son are definitely proof of that!

Where to start… This school is everything you can wish for, especially as a working parent. Both my husband and I work full time and we can definitely say that every morning, we feel no guilt sending both our little ones to Serendipity as we know that it’s the best place in town to learn, flourish and discover. And I can tell you, I have visited all the schools from Zurich to Meilen already to make sure I make the right choice. Most schools sell you the Montessori system but at Serendipity it’s all about the teachers and the way they use the material, talk to the children, care for the children, listen to the children and above all love the children… Also one thing I cherish is diversity, the mix of cultures, races, religions among the children – it’s beautiful to see and so enriching for the children. Every day is a new adventure and I really thank all the teachers for their patience, support and love.

Zoe was one of my son's first Montessori teachers, from age 3y-6y. What amazing years those were for my son. He's 9y now and even to this day speaks of his days in Zoe's classroom. Her teachings, her love, fun-filled classroom experience, outdoor activities, art, math, just about everything has left a very deep lasting impression on my son.Just to pick on one subject - art - Her own love for classical art clearly manifested in her art classes that she designed and taught in a way to inspire a (hopefully) life long love and interest in Van Gogh and Picasso. My son insists on museum visits from time to time to view classical art and thoroughly enjoys them even today. Thanks to Zoe.My son was very lucky to have her as one of his first teachers, and I am so happy to see Zoe continue her passion for Montessori teachings through this school. I can't recommend her enough! She is a BIG deal!!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Ms Georgi and Serendipity Montessori. Our son started attending around his second birthday and we saw the impact almost immediately. His speech improved, his cognitive function improved, and his social skills improved. The staff at the school were an absolute delight to work with. I received two very detailed reports of my son’s learning and growth throughout the year. Serendipity Montessori is the only place I trust to send my child. They have made it very difficult to find any other teachers that care so much for my child’s well-being and learning.

Both of my daughters have attended Serendipity Montessori for about 2 years and they’ve enjoyed their experience. It is a family like community and a warm/cozy house-like environment supporting kids to fulfill their potential and learn to be independent. One day a week, kids go to the forest enjoying the nature and picnics. There have always been nice activity-based events and it is also a great place to improve multi-language learning skills. In addition, the parent-teacher relationship has been very important for Serendipity administration and teachers, they have always been very responsive whenever we had questions/suggestions.

Serendipity is an excellent institution. As a family of five, we’ve had the experience of working with a number of schools and childcare providers and it is without hesitation that we place Serendipity at the top of the pack.Firstly, and most importantly, the hiring process at Serendipity should be the envy of most major corporations. Every teacher that has led one of our childrens’ classroom has made the effort to really get to know them, understanding their individual personalities and preparing them for their upcoming developmental steps. We truly have the impression that every teacher brings their all to the classroom, that they are 100% focused on the wellbeing of our children, and that they are able to enjoy themselves while doing so too!Secondly, the team has been able to create a proper sense of community around the school. From picnics during the weekends to celebrations of Halloween and end of year parties, it’s a pleasure to see other parents in an unforced environment and watch our kids merge their home lives with their school life.Finally, the administration of the schools is efficient, quick to respond to any doubts / questions and open to suggestions. It’s quite a feat that the school has been able to grow so quickly while continuing to focus on the individual needs of each family and child.

My daughter has been in Serendipity with Gwen since last summer and we are so happy to see her thriving. Gwen is amazing, warm and very open to any thoughts or concerns we may have. The Serendipity Team is very reliable and readily available to our needs as parents and make children the priority.

Wonderful school and teachers! The school curriculum and activities have helped my child to feel confident and independent be it through their weekly Forest outings , cooking in school, celebration of different cultures , Christmas concert and other related curriculum work. Special thanks to Ms Zoe, Ms Michelle and Ms Sedal who were very patient and kind and helped ease separation anxiety and ensure she felt loved at school. All the teachers are really kind and ensure a good learning environment. Thank you.

Ms. Georgi set the bar extremely high for our family. She instilled in our daughter a curiosity and a love for learning at a critical age and we are forever grateful. She provided a structured learning environment that gave the children guardrails but still allowed them to explore. This enabled them to build a sense of confidence in their own skills and exploration.In addition to being loved by the children she is an excellent communicator. She was able to provide me and my husband detailed explanations of the Montessori approach and why it works. She would then connect those approaches to our specific child and share with us her strengths and where there was an opportunity for growth. She saw our daughter as an individual and took the time to get to know her. She is also extremely generous with her time both in and outside of the classroom. We had numerous field trips and activities that were definitely above and beyond often taking place outside of school time.She is truly dedicated to education and a one in a million teacher. If you have the chance, I would highly recommend attending her program.
