MEININGER Hotel Zürich Greencity

Great place to stay in Zurich. Walk able from the train station and lake front. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Huge common area and kitchen. Met some good PPL there.

Stayed here for 1 night only, 4 bed female dorm with 1 bathroom for the 4 of us, which was nice. Room and bathroom were clean, front desk people were kind and helpful. Breakfast was awesome. It’s not downtown, but it’s a short train ride away — the train is a 5 min walk from the hostel.

Thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night stay here. Room was clean and have the basics I needed. Close to the train station so easy walk and the water fountain/spiket outside was wonderful. Their laundromat was down sadly, so I had to travel a great distance to find a working one. Besides that, I would recommend this hostel stay!

The location was a little ways out of central Zurich, but taking a train to the hotel from the central station was almost seamless. Nearest train is only about a 7 minute walk. Really vibrant hotel with great reception. Room was clean and felt unique to other hotels. All the necessary tools available if you wanted to cook your own meals in the kitchen, which unfortunately can get crowded (go early or later would be my suggestion).

Common kitchen is nice but they should invest in a better water kettle (one that can be removed from the power cord). Also there was a weird stain in my bed sheets and also in some of my roommate's.Other than that the location is pretty good and the rooms are pretty nice asides from the stains.

Das Hotel ist sehr sauber, der Service zuvorkommend. Das es außerhalb liegt, war uns bewusst und dass es zu Fuß ein gutes Stück in die Altstadt war, auch.Der Preis für die Übernachtung war aber dahingehend ganz passabel. Was uns etwas störte waren die Preise, die für alles mögliche noch oben drauf kommen. Parkplatz ist horrend, Frühstück meiner Meinung nach auch. Aber da man die Wahl hat und es ja nicht nehmen muss, will ich hier auch keinen großen Abzug machen. Das Zimmer war minimalistisch eingerichtet, für unsere Zwecke aber vollkommen ausreichend.

Aufgrund der Preise eine Alternative für diejenigen, die nicht so viel Geld ausgeben möchten… ansonsten nicht wirklich eine Alternative zumindest für uns. Aufgrund des Preises und der Bewertungen haben wir hier gebucht. Das Frühstück ist ok - lauwarmer Kaffee aus einer billigen Kaffeemaschine und halt Salami, Schinken und 2 Sorten Käse. Bohnen und gekochte Eier sowie 3 Joghurts zur Auswahl. Wir hatten nichts anderes erwartet und so war es ok. Das Personal ist teilweise freundlich aber leider nicht jede/r. Auch das ist halt so und bei den Preisen leider manchmal so. Die Zimmer sind halt im Youth Hostel Stil. Nach 2 Nächten hatte ich direkt irre Rückenschmerzen und die Matratzen - müssten 80 cm sein… naja. Alles irgendwie für den Preis erwartbar… deshalb ist hier der Altersschnitt auch eher bei 22 j…. Was aber aus unserer Sicht gar nicht geht ist das Hygienische. Die Zimmer werden nur auf Wunsch und Entgelt gereinigt und scheinbar alles andere auch. Bitte liebes Hotel, guckt euch diese üblen Teppiche an. Die sind mindestens Jahre nicht gereinigt worden. Wir waren drei Tage dort und die Bänder der Mülltüten liegen überall … Haare und Schmutz… siehe Beispielfoto. Bitte da wenigstens einmal die Woche saugen….
