The swivel seats on the rocks give you a reason to smile! The fork just makes you take in more of the scenery and hungry enough to go eat inside Alimentarium!

A 8 meter tall stainless steel piece of art since 1995. Really makes the waterfront more interesting. Remember to stay around till sunset for the fork to reflect the sunset colours! Worth a visit.

Relaxing places with a nice settings and stunning viewAlthough local inhabitants and those enjoying lakeside strolls embraced the Fork from the outset, obtaining permission for it to take up permanent residence in Lake Geneva was no piece of cake!At its official inauguration ceremony in September 2009, County Counsellor Jacqueline de Quattro highlighted the symbolic power such works of art can acquire, as with the mermaid in Copenhagen, the Manneken Pis in Brussels and now the Fork in Vevey. The trials and tribulationsThe Fork is a statue of great stature! Made of stainless steel, it is 8 metres high and 1.3 metres wide. It was designed by Jean-Pierre Zaugg, a sculptor from Neuchâtel, Switzerland and embedded in the lake in February 1995 to commemorate the Alimentarium’s tenth anniversary. It was initially intended to grace the lakeshore in front of the Museum for one year.In 1996, despite backing from the town of Vevey, the Alimentarium did not obtain authorisation for the Fork to stay. Hence it left Lake Geneva for Littau in the Canton of Lucerne, to embellish the garden outside the Berndorf cutlery factory.

Vevey is a lovely town on the eastern banks of Lake Leman, and we recommend that everybody visit its beautiful promenade, which is dotted with cafés, restaurants, and gorgeous gardens. The spectacular views of the Alpine scenery are the highlights. The town It's famous for the Nestlé headquarters, its art galleries, Charlie Chaplin, and the picturesque vineyards that surround it. We highly recommend paying a visit to the Alimentarium, the world's first museum totally dedicated to food.

I recommend it if you have free time during the trip. If you’re busy, you don‘t have to go. It’s good to take pictures while walking on Lake Reman. There‘s a chair on the rock, and if you sit down and take a picture, it comes out well.
