Hotel Metropol Basel

Dieses Hotel erreicht die Minimal Anforderungen an ein 4-Stern Hotel nicht! Es gibt keinen Getränkeservice, die „Minibar“ mit 2 Wasserflaschen ist ein Witz und es hat auch keinen Bademantel. - Das Personal ist zwar sehr freundlich, aber minimal aufgestellt. Das Zimmer ist sauber, Bett und Bettwäsche sehr bequem. Prachtvoll ist die Lage des ordentlichen Frühstücks Buffets im 8. Stock. Weniger gut, dass die Kellnerin am offenen Buffet dauernd vor sich hin hustet, ohne Hand oder Elle vors Gesicht zu halten.

The rooms are totally basic, no coffee pot, no air conditioning. The hotel lobby is nice and so is the breakfast. The hotel is really close to places to eat and the train station

Nice hotel and great location; 2 minutes walk across the train station. No funny smells. Everything is great except there no air, fan or air conditioning in my room. Arrived in a heatwave day of 36C and there’s no air in the room. Other than that everything is great

Hotelzimmer liess zu wünschen übrig...der Blick auf den Hinterhof des Hotels war nicht gerade einladent...ein Vorhang war total zerrissen..auf dem Bett fanden sich Haare...Da hätte ich doch gleich ein zimmer im ibis budget hotel nehmen können!!!Das Hotel hat meiner Ansicht nach keine 4 sterne verdient!!!Früstücksbuffet war nicht wie angepriesen im 8 Stock..man musste in den Saal des Euler hotels...Reception vom Metropol blieben alle Tage unbesetzt...Meine Firma bezahlte den aufenthalt..ginge es nach mir hätte ich sofort das hotel gewechselt!!!!

It is an okay hotel, very central. Close to SBB Central Station.Seems to be 3 hotels in one, with a main reception for checking in all guests.Staff were nice and checked me into the room early, which I was very grateful for. Rooms are clean and tidy but basic, unfortunately I ran out of coffee in the room and it was not replenished during my stay. Thankfully, there is literally a Starbucks right by the hotel. That was my saviour at 630 every morning.Very noisy if you have the windows open but thankfully I had air con.Not sure if I would return, I think the price is too high for the service/quality. I have stayed in several places in Basel over the last few weeks and unfortunately it is not the best. Just basic.

Lage ist super. Zimmer war sauber und soweit OK. Im Bad kommt die Farbe von der Decke. Das sollte bei diesem Zimmerpreis nicht vorkommen.

Handy SBB SNCF station nightstop

This hotel is modern and comfortable and well located next to the main railway station with trams and busses all over the city within 50 meters. The only disappointment was the air conditioning was really inadequate and the room was too hot sleep properly. Windows did open but then lots of traffic noise as all trams, trains and busses. I did mention the noise at reception and was told aircon didn't work on the 6th floor. The weather wasn't particularly hot, so in the middle of summer, this would be a major issue. I would stop again in the winter months as everything else was good, but unless the aircon was improved, I wouldn't stay in the warmer months.

Good size rooms with comfortable beds and suitable bathrooms. All the amenities you would expect, a lift to the floor, although you will find a few (about 5 steps) steps to climb to reach the lift. Checkin is easy via the Centralbahnplatz street entrance. Upon checkin you will receive free public transport around the city for your stay.Their is always minted waters at reception for you to help yourself.Upon checkin you receive two keycards to open your room door if you are checking in more than one person.There are tissues in the rooms along with tea & coffee making facilities, a safe, TV, air conditioning, but no mini bar.Breakfast buffet and meals area is quite nice with plenty of seating and large comfortable area.Hotel Metropol Basel is close to the Basel railway station in the Centralbahnplatz street immediately out front about 25 meters on your left. There is also trams stopping out front every few minutes.

The hotel is well located, allowing easy access on foot to the city center. It is also located near a train and metro station. The staff is very friendly and attentive, both at the reception and in the care in tidying the room. The room was always clean. The acoustic and thermal insulation is quite good. The breakfast on the top floor, allows a unique panoramic view of the city.
