Pure arnaque!J’ai loué un véhicule pour 6jours pour mes vacances. Après1h30d’attente,L’agent me refuse ma carte visa pour la caution.Il paraît que c’est un système qui n’existe qu’en suisse..jamais entendu parlé ailleurs en Europe.L’agent m’assure que je n’ai rien à payer car ce n’est pas moi qui a annulé cette réservation.J’ai mis 3heures pour trouver un véhicule,et fini avec le double prix à l’aéroport .J’ai gâché ma 1ere journée pour rien.Au retour à paris,comme j’ai imaginé le montant de réservation est bien débité de mon compte. Je fais la réclamation à booking mais en vain. Il me réponds comme si c’est de ma faute. J’ai bien vérifié de nouveau la condition pour la réservationDe booking et de Hertz mais il ne parle jamais de ce système bidon de la carte de crédit. Il dit tout simplement avoir la carte visa ou master au nom de conducteur qui a suffisamment de fond,ce qui est mon cas. Comment j’aurais pu savoir cette catastrophe en avance??Je suppose que je ne suis pas là 1ere personne qui a ce même problème,je trouve ça malhonnête de leur part de ne pas bien expliquer cette condition si particulière en suisse.(d’ailleurs j’ai bien pu loué une voiture chez avis ,donc ce n’est même pas le système en suisse mais uniquement chez hertz..,?)

During my recent trip, I rented cars from various companies, and Hertz provided the worst experience by far. I am sharing my experience here to help others avoid similar issues.First and foremost, would I ever rent from Hertz again? Not unless it was absolutely, absolutely necessary. And I would do so with a professional photography team with me!I arrived at their office just before closing time due to a few hours of train delay. They handed me the car keys and informed me that the car was in the parking lot, with some damages (they provided a diagram with red crosses indicating the damaged areas). They asked me to inspect the car and take photos of any additional damages not mentioned in the diagram before taking the car. This surprised me, as every other company I rented from conducted a joint inspection of the car with me both during pickup and return. Nevertheless, I went to the parking lot, quickly checked the car, and everything appeared to be fine. Admittedly, I didn't inspect it thoroughly (my mistake! It's important that you meticulously check, take pictures, and even film for an extended period. If the parking area has insufficient lighting, bring flashlights. Or, simply choose another company!). Nonetheless, I took the car and returned it according to my rental agreement. Again, there was no one in the office, so I parked the car in the designated area and dropped the keys into the instructed box.A few hours later, I received a call from Hertz, claiming that there were new damages on the car (rear bumper, left-hand side). I was taken aback and explained that the damages they mentioned were already present when I took the car. You may wonder why I didn't take a photo of it then, because there was a red cross on the diagram indicating the exact same location. However, they argued that the cross was meant for another scratch! adjacent to this supposedly new area (my mistake! You photograph and document every single scratch on the car. Or, choose another company!). I asked them how I was supposed to know this, and they explained that there were photos in the contract they had sent me via email, and I should have matched everything based on those photos. Unfortunately, I failed to do so (my mistake again! You dedicate as many hours as necessary to match and document everything. Or, simply choose another company!). I was truly confused and speechless. I had a couple of photos of the car from when I picked it up, clearly showing that the damages they were referring to were already there. However, they refused to accept them as evidence since they were taken after I had taken the car out of the parking lot. They claimed that they update the damage photos in the contract after each rental. Out of curiosity, I checked the photos in the contract, and to my surprise, the dates on the photos were from last year—the last time they were updated! When I brought this to their attention, they claimed that no new damages had occurred since then! In the end, they charged me approximately €1000 for the damages. Fortunately, I was able to claim the amount back from my insurance company, so I am not writing this review solely because of financial loss.Was there anything positive about them? Well, the car Hertz provided me with was indeed in great condition and enjoyable to drive. Additionally, the staff members I interacted with were friendly and helpful, ensuring that I received all the necessary documents for my insurance claim.

We arrived to pick up our car after having made our reservation months ago and we were told they had no cars available and that we had to wait two hours to come pick one up. After two hours we went back and they said that we were likely out of luck because 20+ people were still waiting for their cars. We just took the train to the airport and rented a car from Europcar and it was a million times easier. I would never come to this location if I were you.

Ultra nul, c’est géré par hertz, une heure d’attente, un agent super sympa heureusement, tout seul, des restrictions sur les cartes bancaires, pour les cautions, qui n’existe nulle part ailleurs que chez eux, catastrophe, d’être aussi nul et de faire perdre autant de temps au client, j’aurais ce fournisseur de ma liste sachant que je suis professionnel et que je me déplace en permanence

The Toyota C-Hr was great. Very economical. HOWEVER, there were no specific directions for returning the car to the main station parking. It should be clear that the parking is on basement -3 of Geneve's main station and how to enter the parking lot. There is no information about the location of either the office or the return parking. Not great when rushing to catch a train
