Although located in a nondescript apartment building, this is a super efficient and friendly Consulate.If you request an appointment, they will confirm it promptly.I had to get a litany of estate planning documents notarized and they gave each the eagle eye and knew exactly what was required.I missed the fact that you have to bring your own witnesses as the Consular staff only notarized but doesn’t witness documents.The two ladies working there were kind enough to tell me when a couple was coming in who might be amenable to acting as my witnesses and suggested I have a walk around the block and coffee before coming back. Success! Can’t thank them enough as I came in from another canton specifically to get my documents notarized.Before you leave they will also check to make sure you have all the information to register to vote.The security officer who scans you at the door and looks after your belongings is also very friendly.A real pleasure to deal with people who are both super professional and friendly.

The Suisse staff at this consular outpost--don't think there are any US consular officials--are more friendly, efficient, and competent than any US diplomatic or consular staff I have come across in Switzerland in almost 40 years.

FOR AMERICAN CITIZENSDo not trust the information given to you at the guichet, i was given a lot of wrong information about updating information back in the US. Do what I didn’t know to do (as I thought it was safe to trust the State Department representative), and check the information with your local US authorities stateside.
