Be very careful when buying a watch from Historian Lugano. I bought a vintage Skagen watch and asked if he could install a battery before shipping to me. He grumbled but seemed willing to do it. Then I decided I'd be able to have a battery put in for the same price here in the U.S., so I just had the watch shipped. When it arrived, I discovered from two watch places here in Washington DC that the watch needed a total overhaul to run again. That meant that my cost for the watch more than doubled. I asked the seller to split the extra cost of the overhaul with me. He threw a s-fit. Screamed through his messages that something was wrong with my watch places and I should ship the watch back to him if I wanted a refund but he would never re-sell it to me. Huh? Why would I want him to re-sell it to me? Furthermore, he said, vintage watches should never be expected to run without an overhaul. Huh? This is the guy who was so sure the watch would run that he was willing to install a battery at his end before mailing it to me. He also said the watch was practically new. NO -- the watch showed very heavy wear on the back of the clasp, as he surely knew. But of course the photos on his website didn't reveal the back of the clasp. I ultimately kept the watch and ate" the extra cost. Just too costly and time-consuming to mail it back to him (I waited 5 weeks for the watch to get here). But please be cautious if you buy a watch here."

I purchased a piece of art from Historian Lugano. It was in great condition and exactly as described. They shipped it within two days and it arrived in about a week (I live in the United States). It was very carefully packaged. I would definitely buy from them again!
