Bordierhütte SAC

Fantastische Bewirtung und Gastfreundschaft....sehr zu empfehlen.

Excellent hut right next to the Ried Glacier. Cozy and small space. Staff very attentive and helpful. Food decent. Ibex roam around the vicinity of the hut especially in the early morning.Note that the hiking trail has only opened in 2023 so not much info. Contrary to the SAC website and the hiking signposts it takes the average Joe (aka me) way more than the advertised 3:45h time to hike from Gasenried (I did it in 4h30 but with a small break at the glacier tongue). The last stretch up the scree slope was quite tough (T3+ grade I’d say). Otherwise the trail is very well marked (though Swisstopo has not updated this trail as of this review).Elevation gain is probably more than 1240m (I’d say 1300m) due to the trail descending ~50m down to the glacier tongue before crossing it and going back up. Way down to Gasenried takes 3h00 (without stopping) instead of the signposted 2h30min. It would be good if SAC acknowledges this.

Very beautiful hike to the Hütte. The host is very friendly and welcoming. They have refreshing drinks for a good price. The new route is easy to follow and nicely marked.
