I participated the MIC Parent-toddler-program. The educators & the assistants are very welcome. A very pleasant environment for both you & the child. I highly recommend enrolling your children at the MIC.

Our daughters truly enjoyed the Sternen/Star group. It's expensive but the care is beyond compare. The teachers are sincere and genuinely care about the development of the children. We've had friends who have moved from the area state they couldn't find another place as reliable. We overlooked the fact that it's expensive and closed 8 weeks per year.UPDATE 03/2021: This facility is no longer appealing based on the poor management of Daphne Bachmann. She is not honest or transparent and treats the staff poorly, which has an impact on the care of the children. Monika Schenkel and her team are fantastic and we highly recommend them, but they are not free to administer care under Frau Bachmann. There are better options, keep looking.

Our son went to MIC during about two years and there are good things to be said. Most carers met him with love and respect. We are grateful for what they gave him. The location and its garden are wonderful and hard to beat. Unfortunately, our experience was rather irritating and frustrating. The callousness towards our children and our family left us deeply disappointed. We felt a saddening lack of respect for our child and consequently decided not to send him there anymore.-----------------------Our MIC Episode-----------------------We invested ample thoughts and energy in evaluating the daycare for our children. Finally, our decision was for MIC. Important factors were the Montessori reputation, the amazing location and proximity to our home. We agreed on a pensum of 2 days per week for our elder son and a confirmed place for our soon-to-be-born daughter. After about a year, we were asked to increase the pensum. We pointed out to our 2-day-agreement and preferred not to increase. In the wake of this, bullying started.Bullying came in form of fabricating a crisis out of a childcarer’s incapability to cope with our son’s (age-adequate) behaviour. At the time, he needed more care and love: his grandma had just died and it was a hard time for him.Incredibly, instead of holding the childcarer accountable to MIC’s rules*, management stigmatized the child. In addition, we were given disconcerting educational advice (“if he does not behave, take a more stern look when talking to him”).Moreover, our daughter was kept more than a year (!) on the waiting list, before a place was refused - on the grounds that we wanted to adhere to agreed terms. In order to get this dismal response, we had to keep asking for an update during months. Annoying for any organisation - a disgrace for a daycare to act with such disregard for a child and her development.Remarkable was the stonewalling and denial of dialog: While we worked towards finding a solution, MIC increased efforts to shoo us away. Finally, we gave in and decided not to keep our son in such a hostile environment. We read the organization’s behaviour as putting commercial interests above the child’s well-being and above being a reliable partner. Besides, we perceive a lack of basic communication skills. This is the opposite of what we expect from any daycare, let alone a Montessori institution.------*Breached rules by MIC include, e.g.- “We include the child if we talk about him with someone else”- “We are a role model and reflect our behaviour and interaction”- “[We] do not expect the child to act reasonable”- “We stick to what we said or promised”- “Respect the child’s development”→ Source: “Role of the Adult”, Lecture to Parents by MIC on 06.09.2018.
