We've been left stranded with 2 young kids in Geneva after Hertz/Thrifty refused to accept debit cards (or cash) as a deposit for a PREPAID rental with prepaid, fully comp insurance. I've never owned a credit card in my life and dont believe in spending what you dont have. It does say they only accept credit cards in the t&C's but, I was told on the desk they could take debit cards but didn't like to. No refund and thoroughly unimpressed

Great service at point of collection, absolute nightmare to return the car. If anyone is looking to hire a car from the French side of Geneva airport, you may need to lay down some breadcrumbs to get back as there are no signs and with the multiple levels throughout the site your satnav won't know how to get you to where you need to be. You may want to try MyThreeWords but not sure that will cope with the levels either. THRIFTY - please please please improve your signage.

Had a terrible experience. After renting the car for a day trip to a neighboring town I was charged an additional 500 EUR due to unfounded claims that I had driven 1300 km with the car which was barely even possible within the time constraints and not filled up the gas. I provided proof of filling up the gas as well as only driving less than 250 km which was completely ignored. Would definitively not recommend and if you absolutely have to rent a car here make sure to take a picture of the car's odometer before and after as well as keeping the gas receipt.

You realize something is completely wrong when you arrive at the counter. Many clients shaking their heads in frustration.My approx euro 450 booking became a eur 1050 booking. Online booking with thrifty eventually became a hertz booking.You gotta admire the “games” that are planned to to get your money.Oh you want winter tires ? Our cars don’t come with winter tires unless you pay extra.Your standard insurance has a self pay component of eur 30,000 would you like to order extra insurance ?The standard answer to many questions. Oh you should call where you made the booking.... yes I made an online booking with Thrifty... (me standing at the thrifty counter lol).The car was fine.

Wouldn't provide me with my booked car as I didn't have a credit card. I've used Thrifty multiple times before and this has never been a problem, until Geneva airport. I ended up needing to book a car from Avis (didn't need a credit card) at the last minute at considerable extra cost.Also when I contacted customer service they said I couldn't get a refund. So wasted money there. If you don't have a credit card, use Avis instead.

Hello,I wanted to share my amazing experience when renting a car with Thrifty in Geneva this last Holiday Season.I arrived at the airport with tons of luggages and my 2.5 years old. We met Victor at the counter. He was very super nice, courteous and polite.He helped us to get our car, get a car seat and loaded our luggage into the car. I could not have been more and happy and so so thankful that he was there that day! He went above and beyond his daily work duties and made our day!Thank you Victor!Delphine

Hertz (apparently the same company as Thrifty) charged unexpected extras and they claim we made this chip in the window. I know the sound of an impact which should have clearly audible. It wasn't. So I 'm pretty sure we didn't make the chip. The charged 390 for the damage the bill unexpectedly ended up over 530 euro surcharge on a 402 euro rental.

Voleur en puissance. Ramener la voiture et il y avait un eclat sur jante de 0.3 minimetre facturé chf 470. Impossible d avoir les papiers de retour du vehicule du loueur car leur système informatique était en panne. La seule solution proposée par l agence était d attendre ce qui m aurait fait louper le vol.La personne qui a receptionner le véhicule faisait volontairement trainer les choses et était de mauvaise foi et pas serviable. Il est allé jusqu à faire avancer 4 fois le véhicule et le reculer pour me faire perdre mon temps.. Service déplorable à la limite de l arnaque Ne mérite même pas une étoile
