A must see for geneva. One of the oldest pins in the city and the two guys working were very nice. A little dark but it's an old pub so go on expecting the dark feel and you'll be good. A little hard to find so don't miss it.

This place is quite small and get easily packed when suddenly a large group of students enter, but the staff are quick with the drinks and they are mostly very agréable and fun. Enough stools and chairs and tables for a good time, and the street side allows for easy chitchatting if you don't feel like music, that being said the music is always really good and will have some people vibing and dancing. A great place, a pillar of fun that's well known in the city, I recommend going there for a few drinks! Oh, and they also have a large choice of drinks, shakers at reasonable prices considering its Geneva, and craft beers !

Super clean, super friendly, super welcoming, super professional male bar tender. An interesting mix of Swiss people.This bar was and is quite popular amongst some of the teenage sons and teenage daughters of international families stationed around Lac/Lake Geneva/Genève/Genf canton as well as non-EU / EU communities, universities and organisations (mainly French speaking).The most safely guarded historical cathedral in Geneva can be seen ominously glowing at night or towering brightly in the day with its gigantic columns just a couple meters away going up(hill) : St Pierre.The most reformed, most prominent, most competitive (pre-university) local collège is also just a couple meters away from Roi Ubu by walking down(hill); with its absolutely massive dark staircase entrance : Calvin.Walking uphill from cobblestoned intersections near the grand fountain(s) at Bel Air or walking downhill to the longest wooden bench over-looking the Bastion's Reformation Wall draped across the entire Old Town will likely be challenging for any newcomer because public access by (noisy) motorised vehicle is strictly and solely reserved for the wealthiest privatised residents and the Palais de Justice.Roi Ubu is within walking distance to- Payot- Confederation Center/Confédération Centre- Le Petit Palace- 22 Grand Rue- golden Russian Orthodox Church- McDonald's breakfast café lunch & dinner- Doodah- Rive's diverse boats, buses, tram & taxi- The first Starbucks in Geneva.

One of my favorite bars in Geneva.Nice music and young, timeless vibes.Famous for its colorful shakers, featuring different flavors alcohol-pop to drink as a series of shots.Also great selection of spirits and beers.

This is a pretty cool place in a typical old city building (Rousseau was born almost next door to it). The inside looks kind of like a very old fashion pub from three centuries ago... From memory, they have good cocktails but I haven't been in a long time, it's actually where I got drunk for the first time ages ago ;-)

I always visit the oldest bar in the city that I'm in. And this bar is adjacent to a square that's from the 6th century. This bar is all the old world charm and fun of the top of a hill in an old time Europe. I recommend you definitely stop in here for a drink or two.

Roi Ubu is what would be considered a 'dive bar' - it has great ambiance, a different drinks menu, friendly staff and you can usually get a seat.
